Our Secret Sauce
Our Rotors Wobble
Our flywheels operate totally contact-free, enabling unbalanced rotation. With unbalanced rotors, we have reduced fabrication costs, increased efficiency, nearly eliminated maintenance, and greatly extended system lifetimes. Our virtual axle allows the flywheel to rotate around its own natural inertial axis, which produces the wobble that is shown. While the rotor may look unstable, it is not. With our unique design, we can follow the virtual axle and periodically nudge the flywheel to keep it stable within the frame of reference of the enclosure.
Low Power Station Keeping
Our levitation control and dynamic stabilization techniques consume less than a Watt of power combined. Our patented rotor stabilization system maintains control of our flywheel without the use of mechanical bearings or traditional active magnetic bearings. The unique active stabilization system allows it to operate at full capacity over the rated lifespan, dynamically compensating for any long-term stress-related shifts in weight distribution. Not only does this extend the life of the product, but it allows us to make use of a variety of rotor materials that would otherwise be unsuitable.
Cheap Manufacturing
Our innovations in rotor control have allowed us to eliminate expensive active magnetic bearings and replace them with lower cost and simpler systems. In addition, our unique station keeping approach does not require a balanced rotor, greatly reducing the cost to manufacture.
Green materials
The main components of our system are made entirely of carbon fiber, steel, and aluminum. There are no hazardous materials anywhere in our system. We are committed to creating a completely green energy storage solution that will transition us to a green energy economy, and therefore we need to be green energy storage.
